First up: In a report by PR.com, Certified Cannabis Compliance Training, Inc., has announced that it will be offering a multi-day course for those wanting to learn how to properly conduct cannabis compliance audits.
The seminar is based on “The Certified Cannabis Compliance Officer Audit Manual & Guidebook,” which is currently the only guidebook offered in the industry. The book focuses on performing compliance audits for dispensaries, cultivators, laboratories, and more.
The seminar is scheduled to be held from November 9-11. Students will be taught how to construct checklists, record chain of custody documentation, evaluate audit findings and understand state law requirements.
Other topics in the course include understanding fraud, understanding seed to sale software, preparing and utilizing checklists, and fighting fines. The three-day course costs about $900 per sign up, and further details are available at www.cannabiscompliancetrainer.com.
And next: Dispensaries in the Mitten State will soon be able to purchase brand cannabis products from rapper and canna-isseur Lil Wayne. This according to The Metro Times.
Lil Wayne’s GKUA Ultra Premium, which launched in California last year, will be available in 30 Michigan dispensaries beginning this month.
“GKUA is Weezy’s Weed. It’s what I love, and now I’m sharing what I love with the people of Michigan,” Lil Wayne said in a press release. “These days everyone could use some help to feel inspired.”
Products in the initial Michigan launch include cannabis strains such as Sour Garlic Cookies and Gorilla Glue #4 in addition to prerolls and vape products. During the launch, dispensary goers may run into a familiar face. It’s expected that Young Money rapper Lil Twist will be meeting with fans and passing out swag outside of a number of locations.
Those in Michigan can use “Weezy’s Weed Finder” to find where the Lil Wayne line is offered in their area.
Last up: GlobeNewswire reports that Green Thumb Industries, one of the nation’s largest cannabis producers, announced the upcoming opening of its cannabis retail location Rise Naperville.
Rise will be the first adult-use dispensary to open in the city of Naperville, Illinois. Scheduled to be present at the ribbon cutting ceremony is Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico. Green Thumb also announced that first day sales profits will go to Loaves & Fishes, a nonprofit organization that works to provide those with hunger and poverty relief.
“We worked hard to offer adult-use cannabis sales in Naperville and are excited to meet new customers while continuing to serve our patients,” said Green Thumb Founder and Chief Executive Officer Ben Kovler. “We have been proud members of the Naperville community since 2016 and will remain good neighbors, creating jobs and tax revenue and making a positive impact through our corporate responsibility programs.”
